Circuit Description

The Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch detects the gearshift lever position and sends signals to the ECM. The ECM receives signals (PNP switch, Reverse, Drive, 2nd and Low) from the PNP switch. DTC P1780 will set when ECM detects 2 or more of the following conditions for 30 seconds or more. Vehicle speed is at least 44 MPH, engine speed is between 1500-2500 RPM, while the PNP switch is in the "N" position. Possible causes are:
