Circuit Description

When brake pedal is applied, brakelight switch sends a signal to ECM. If torque converter clutch is in lock-up mode, ECM cancels lock-up operation and prevents engine stall when coming to a stop. DTC will set if ECM detects brakelight switch signal does not turn off during driving. Possible causes are:
- Open or short in brakelight switch circuit.
- Brakelight switch malfunction.
- ECM malfunction.
