Circuit Description

Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) outputs a 4-pulse signal for every revolution of transaxle output shaft. Signal is converted into a more precise rectangular wave form by combination meter and is then delivered to ECM. DTC P0500 is set if there is no VSS signal to ECM while vehicle is being driven, counter drive gear RPM is equal to or greater than vehicle speed, an error is detected in ECT sensor circuits causing ECT sensor signal to be less than 68°F (20°C), and PNP switch is in "P" or "N" position for more than 30 seconds.
