Cruise Control Electronic Control Unit

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Toyota RAV4, 2002 Toyota RAV4, 2002 Toyota Highlander, 2001 Toyota RAV4, and 2001 Toyota Highlander. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Cruise control Electronic Control Unit (ECU) delivers an input signal to ECM to control overdrive operation in accordance with vehicle speed when cruise control is operating. When in overdrive with cruise control on, if vehicle speed drops 10 MPH less than set speed, transaxle downshifts out of overdrive to prevent reduction in vehicle speed. Once vehicle speed is more than set speed, transaxle will upshift back into overdrive. Cruise control ECU is located behind instrument panel on driver's side of vehicle.
