Circuit Description

PNP switch detects gearshift lever position and sends signals ("NSW", "R", "2" and "L") to ECM. If no signal is received from PNP switch, ECM defaults to "D" position. DTC is set when the following conditions occur: PNP switch signal is ON ("N" position), vehicle speed is more than 44 MPH, or engine speed is at 1500-2500 RPM for more than 30 seconds.
