Brakelight switch signal circuit is used to detect brake pedal application. Brakelight switch sends a signal to ECM when brake pedal is applied, preventing engine stall when coming to a stop after driving with TCC in lock-up condition. When brake pedal is applied, TCC will disengage. DTC is set when brakelight switch signal does not turn off once vehicle is driven. Possible causes are:
- Open or short in brakelight switch signal circuit.
- Brakelight switch malfunction.
- ECM malfunction.
