SLN Solenoid

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Toyota Avalon and 2001 Toyota Avalon. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

ECM determines optimum operating pressure according to signals from TP sensor, vehicle speed sensor and direct clutch speed sensor and controls volume of current flow to SLN solenoid. Amount of current to SLN solenoid is controlled by duty ratio output signal from ECM, controlling hydraulic pressure acting on accumulator control valve to smooth shifting. When duty ratio is high, hydraulic pressure at clutches is low. SLN solenoid is located on transaxle valve body. See Figure.
