Removal (ES 300)

  1. Remove air cleaner cover assembly. Drain brake fluid. Remove master cylinder. See MASTER CYLINDER .
  2. Remove bolts and separate charcoal canister from body. See Fig 1.
  3. Remove bolt and separate vacuum line from body. Slide clip and disconnect vacuum hose from brake booster.
  4. Remove left front door scuff plate.
  5. Remove instrument panel upper sub-assembly.
  6. Remove lower left instrument panel insert sub-assembly.
  7. Remove brake pedal return spring.
  8. Remove clip and push rod pin.
  9. Loosen lock nut and remove push rod clevis.
  10. Use special tool (09023-00100) and remove front brake tube No. 5.
  11. Remove nuts and pull out brake booster assembly.
  12. Remove vacuum brake booster gasket.
