Removal & Installation (GS 300, GS 430 & IS 300)

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove rear wheels. Remove union bolt and gasket. Disconnect flexhose from caliper. Use a container to catch brake fluid as it drains out.
  2. Remove installation bolts and remove caliper. See Fig 1.
  3. If replacing brake caliper, remove anti-squeal spring, clip and pad guide pin, and pads with anti-squeal shims.
  4. To install, reverse removal procedure. When installing flexible hose, use NEW gaskets and lock it securely in lock hole in caliper.
  5. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. Fill and bleed brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM .
  7. Check system for leaks.
