Disassembly (SC 430)

  1. Remove front brake disc brake caliper. See FRONT BRAKE CALIPER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Remove front brake disc pad. See FRONT BRAKE PADS  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Remove upper and lower disc pad support plates.
  4. Remove caliper slide pins from disc brake caliper mounting.
  5. Using a screwdriver and hammer, tap out dust boots.
  6. Remove bolts and remove front disc brake cylinder mounting.
  7. Using a screwdriver, remove set rings and cylinder boots.
    WARNING: Do not place your fingers in front of the piston when using compressed air.
  8. Place a piece of cloth between piston and disc brake caliper. Use compressed air to remove pistons from disc brake caliper.
  9. Using a screwdriver, remove piston seals from disc brake caliper.
  10. Remove front disc brake bleeder screw.
  11. Check caliper bore and piston for rust or scoring.
