Assembly (SC 430)

  1. Temporarily tighten bleeder screw to disc brake caliper.
  2. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease on piston seals. Install piston seals to disc brake caliper.
  3. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease on pistons. Install pistons to disc brake caliper. Do not screw piston forcefully into caliper.
  4. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease on caliper boots and install to disc brake caliper. Install boots securely to grooves of cylinder and piston. Using a screwdriver, install set rings.
  5. Install disc brake caliper mounting with bolts and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to seal surface of NEW dust boots. Install dust boots to disc brake caliper mounting.
  7. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to sliding part and seal surface of caliper slide pins. Install caliper slide pins to disc brake caliper mounting.
  8. Install upper and lower disc brake pad support plates. Make sure they have sufficient rebound, no deformation cracks or wear, and have had all rust, dirt and foreign particles cleaned off.
  9. Install disc brake pads. See FRONT BRAKE PADS  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  10. Install front disc brake caliper. See FRONT BRAKE CALIPER .
