Inspection Procedure

  1. Actuator check. 

    PREPARATION: 

    1. Remove glove box to see and check the air inlet damper operation.
    2. Set to the actuator check mode (See PRE-CHECK ).
    3. Press the driver side UP switch and change it to step operation.

    CHECK: 

    Press the driver side UP switch in order and check the operation of air inlet damper.

    OK: 

    DAMPER POSITION RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

    Display Code Air Inlet Damper
    0 - 1 FRS
    2 F/R
    3 REC
    4 - 9 FRS

    1. OK : Proceed to next circuit inspection shown on problem symptoms table (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ). 
    2. NG : Go to next step. 
  2. Check air inlet damper control servomotor. 

    PREPARATION: 

    Remove air inlet servomotor (See ).

    CHECK: 

    Connect positive (+) lead to terminal 4 and negative (-) lead to terminal 5.

    OK: 

    The lever moves smoothly to REC position. 

    CHECK: 

    Connect positive (+) lead to terminal 5 and negative (-) lead to terminal 4.

    OK: 

    The lever moves smoothly to FRS position.

    1. NG : Replace air inlet damper control servomotor assembly. 
    2. OK : Go to next step. 
  3. Check harness and connector between A/C ECU and air inlet damper control servomotor (See  HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ). 
    1. NG : Repair or replace harness or connector. 
    2. OK : Check and replace A/C ECU.
