Inspection Procedure

HINT

In case of using the LEXUS hand-held tester, start the inspection from step 1 and in case of not using the LEXUS hand-held tester, start from step  2.

  1. Check rheostat light control volume (and tail switch cancel). 

    PREPARATION: 

    1. Connect the LEXUS hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    2. Turn ignition switch ON and LEXUS hand-held tester main switch ON.

    CHECK: 

    1. The value of the illumination rate should change in the following range when the rheostat light control volume is put in the light or covered by a hand.
    2. Check the tail cancel switch using DATA LIST.

      OK: 

      0 - 100 

    1. NG : Replace the rheostat light control volume. 
    2. OK : Go to next step. 
  2. Check the rheostat light control volume (See  INSPECTION  ). 
    1. NG : Replace the rheostat light control volume. 
    2. OK : Go to next step. 
  3. Check wire harness and connector between rheostat light control volume and driver side J/B ECU (See  HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ). 
    1. NG : Repair or replace wire harness or connector. 
    2. OK : Proceed to next circuit inspection shown on problem symptoms table (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ).
