Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Lexus LS 430. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Check wire harness and connector between driver side J/B ECU and combination switch. 

    PREPARATION: 

    Disconnect the connector of "D4" driver side J/B ECU and "C14" combination switch.

    CHECK: 

    1. Check continuity between terminal HEAD (D4-8) of the driver side J/B ECU and HEAD (C14-4) of the combination switch.
    2. Check continuity between terminal BU+ (D4-10) of the driver side J/B ECU and TX1 (C14-11) of the combination switch.

      OK: 

      There is no continuity in wire harness.

      HINT:

      If there is SHORT in wire harness, please repair it.

    1. NG: Repair or replace wire harness.
    2. OK: Replace the combination switch or driver side J/B ECU (See HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE ).
