Inspection Procedure

HINT:
If there is not the LEXUS hand-held tester, replace the sliding roof drive gear assembly.
- Perform active test.
PREPARATION:
Connect the LEXUS hand-held tester to the DLC3.
CHECK:
- Enter into ACTIVE TEST function of LEXUS hand-held tester.
- Check that "Slide roof motor" operates as the LEXUS hand-held tester directs.NOTE: Caution is necessary not to be caught in the roof glass because the jam protection system does not operate during conducting ACTIVE TEST.
HINT:
With one ACTIVE direction, the sliding roof can be slid and tilted continuously.
OK:
The slide roof operates normally.
- OK : Proceed to next circuit inspection shown in problem symptoms table (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE ).
- NG : Go to next step.
- Check P-J/B, S/ROOF fuse and P-IG relay.
CHECK:
- Check continuity of P-J/B and S/ROOF fuse.
- Check P-IG relay
OK:
Continuity
- NG : Replace the failure fuse or relay.
- OK : Go to next step.
- Check voltage between terminals P-IG1, S/ROOF and GND of sliding roof gear assembly with ECU connector.
PREPARATION:
Turn the ignition switch ON.
CHECK:
Measure voltage between terminals P-IG1, and GND.
OK:
Voltage:10 - 14 V
PREPARATION:
- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect the sliding roof gear assembly with ECU connector.
CHECK:
Measure voltage between terminal B and GND.
OK:
Voltage: 10 - 14 V
- NG : Replace sliding roof gear assembly with ECU (See REMOVAL ).
- OK : Go to next step.
- Check harness and connector between sliding roof gear assembly with ECU and body ground.
- NG : Repair or replace wire harness or connector.
- OK : Proceed to next circuit inspection show on problem symptom table (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE ).
