Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Delete the DTC (See PRE-CHECK  ).
    2. Insert the key into the ignition key cylinder.
    3. Check that no code is output.

      Standard: DTC is not output  .

    OK: NO PROBLEM 

    NG: Go to next step. 

  2. READ VALUE OF HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and turn the hand-held tester main switch ON.
    3. Select the item "G-CODE DECISION" in the DATA LIST, and read its value displayed on the hand-held tester.

      Standard: G-CODE DECISION: YES or NO 

    HINT:

    • YES indicates that the registration of the ECU communication ID for the ECM and the transponder key ECU has been completed.
    • NO indicates that the registration of the ECU communication ID for the ECM and the transponder key ECU has not been completed.

    NO: REPLACE KEY 

    YES: Go to next step. 

  3. RE-REGISTER KEY 
    1. Delete the DTC (See PRE-CHECK  ).
    2. Re-register the key (See REGISTRATION ), and check that the engine starts with the key.

      Standard: Engine starts. 

    OK: NORMAL 

    NG: REPLACE KEY
