Inspection Procedure

READ VALUE OF HAND-HELD TESTER
1. Check output value of ECM.
  1. Connect the hand-held tester to DLC3.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and push the hand-held tester main switch to ON.
  3. Select the item "COOLANT TEMP" in the DATA LIST and read its value displayed on the hand-held tester.
OK: Same as actual engine coolant temperature.

NG: GO TO ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM

OK: Go to next step.
CHECK COMBINATION METER ASSY
1. Check the meter indicator conditions according to Fig 2 below.

OK: CHECK AND REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
