Inspection Procedure

PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY HAND-HELD TESTER
1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON and push the hand-held tester main SW ON.
3. Select the item "STEP LIGHT" in the ACTIVE TEST and operate the step light.
  OK: Step light SW ON in tester - Step lamp lights up.
  
  NG: Go to step 14
  
  OK: Go to Next Step
CHECK STEP LAMP ASSY
1. Check the condition A, B or C when step lamp assy does not light up.

  B: Go to step 10
  
  C: Go to step 12
  
  A: Go to Next Step
CHECK DOOR LOCK
B: Go to step 6

CHECK POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSY
1. Unlock the driver side door.
2. Measure voltage between terminal 16 (LSWD) of the power window regulator master switch and 2 (GND).

  NG: CHECK AND REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSY
  
  OK: Go to Next Step
CHECK FRONT DOOR W/MOTOR LOCK ASSY RH
1. Check the continuity between terminal 16 (LSWP) and 3 (KEYE) of the power window regular master switch.
  Standard:

  OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
  
  NG: REPLACE FRONT DOOR W/MOTOR LOCK ASSY RH
CHECK POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSY
1. Unlock the driver side door.
2. Measure voltage between terminal 16 (LSWP) of the power window regulator switch and 2 (GND).
  Standard:

CHECK FRONT DOOR W/MOTOR LOCK ASSY LH
1. Check the continuity between terminal 16 (LSWD) and 3 (KEYE) of the power window regulator switch.

  OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
  
  NG: REPLACE FRONT DOOR W/MOTOR LOCK ASSY LH
CHECK DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY (REAR DOOR RH AND LH)
1. Check which door lamp does not light up.
2. Check that signal waveform appears between each terminal of the driver side J/B assy and body ground.

  OK: CHECK AND REPLACE DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY
  
  NG: Go to Next Step
CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BETWEEN DRIVER SIDE J/B ASSY AND DOOR LOCK)
1. Check the continuity between each terminal of the driver side J/B assy and rear door lock.

  OK: REPLACE DOOR LOCK
  
  NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
CHECK DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY (COURTESY SWITCH SIGNAL)
1. Check that signal waveform appears between terminal B6-1 (PCTY), B4-11 (RRCY), B4-14 (RRCY) or B4-12 (RLCY) and 2 (GND) of driver side J/B assy.
  Standard:

  OK: CHECK AND REPLACE DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY
  
  NG: Go to Next Step
INSPECT COURTESY LAMP SWITCH
1. Inspect courtesy lamp switch continuity.
  1. Check that the continuity exists between terminal 1 and body ground, when switch is operated.
  Standard:
  - ON (When shaft is pressed): No continuity
  - OFF (When shaft is not pressed): Continuity
  NG: REPLACE COURTESY LAMP SWITCH
  
  OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (BETWEEN DRIVER SIDE J/B ASSY AND COURTESY LAMP SWITCH)
CHECK DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY (IG SIGNAL INPUT)
1. Measure voltage between terminal 9 (SIG) and 2A-8 (GND1) of driver side J/B assy.
  Standard: IG switch ON --> 10 --> 14V
  
  OK: CHECK AND REPLACE DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY.
  
  NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (BETWEEN IG SWITCH AND DRIVER SIDE J/B ASSY)
CHECK STEP LAMP ASSY
1. Check the continuity between terminals of step lamp assy.
  Standard: There is continuity.
  
  NG: REPLACE STEP LAMP ASSY
  
  OK: Go to next step
CHECK DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY (STEP LAMP ASSY OUTPUT)
1. Measure voltage between terminal B5-4 (FSPT) and 2A-8 (GND1) of the driver side J/B assy.

  NG: CHECK AND REPLACE DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY
  
  OK: Go to next step
CHECK STEP LAMP ASSY (POWER)
