Inspection Procedure

- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY HAND-HELD TESTER
- Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch ON and push the hand-held tester main SW ON.
- Select the item "HEAD LIGHT (HI)" in the ACTIVE TEST and operate the headlamp.
OK: Headlamp relay ON in tester - Headlamp lights up.
OK: CHECK AND REPLACE DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY
NG: Go to next step
- INSPECT HEADLAMP RELAY
- Inspect headlamp relay continuity.
Standard:
NG: REPLACE HEADLAMP RELAY
OK: Go to next step
- Inspect headlamp relay continuity.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BETWEEN DRIVER SIDE J/B ASSY AND HEADLAMP RELAY AND HEADLIGHT LIGHT CONTROL COMPUTER ASSY)
- Disconnect the connector between the multiplex network body computer and headlight light control computer assy.
- Check the continuity of vehicle side wire harness between terminal 2F-3 (HRLY) and headlamp relay and headlight light control computer assy.
Standard: There is continuity.
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK DISCHARGE HEADLAMP BULB
- Replace the discharge headlamp bulb with a new one.
- Check that the lamp lights up.
NG: REPLACE DISCHARGE HEADLAMP BULB
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HEADLIGHT LIGHT CONTROL COMPUTER ASSY
- Replace the light control computer with a new one.
- Check that the headlamp lights up.
NG: REPLACE HEADLIGHT LIGHT CONTROL COMPUTER ASSY
OK: Go to next step
- READ VALUE OF HAND-HELD TESTER
- Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch ON and push the hand-held tester main SW ON.
- Select the item "HEAD LIGHT SW" in the DATA LIST and read its value displayed on the hand-held tester.
OK:
- Light control SW HEAD --> ON
- Light control SW except HEAD --> OFF
NG: REPLACE HEADLAMP DIMMER SWITCH ASSY
OK: CHECK AND REPLACE DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY
- Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
