Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT TRANSMISSION WIRE (SL2) 
    1. Disconnect the transmission wire connector from the transaxle.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the figure Fig 1 below.

      Standard

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the figure Fig 3 below.

      OK: 

      Standard (Check for short):

    NG: Go to step   3 

    OK: Go to next step. 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION WIRE - ECM) 
    1. Connect the transmission connector to the transaxle.
    2. Disconnect the connector from the ECM.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the figure Fig 4 below.

      Standard

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the figure Fig 6 below.

      OK: 

      Standard (Check for short):

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (SEE  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 

    OK: REPLACE ECM (SEE  ECM (3MZ-FE)  ) 

  3. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE (SL2) 
    1. Remove the shift solenoid valve SL2.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the figure Fig 7 below.

      Standard

    3. Connect the positive (+) lead with a 21 W bulb to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid valve connector, then check the movement of the valve.

      Standard: 

      The solenoid makes an operating noise. 

    NG: REPLACE SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE (SL2) 

    OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE TRANSMISSION WIRE (SEE  TRANSMISSION WIRE (U151E)  )
