Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT SPEED SENSOR INSTALLATION 
    1. Check the speed sensor installation.

      Standard: 

      The installation bolt is tightened properly and there is no clearance between the sensor and transaxle case.

    NG: REPLACE SPEED SENSOR (NT) 

    OK: Go to next step. 

  2. INSPECT SPEED SENSOR (NT) 
    1. Disconnect the speed sensor connector from the trans-axle.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the figure Fig 2 below.

      Standard

    NG: REPLACE SPEED SENSOR (NT) 

    OK: Go to next step. 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPEED SENSOR - ECM) 
    1. Connect the speed sensor connector.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the figure Fig 4 below.

      Standard

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the figure Fig 6 below.

      Standard (Check for short)

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (SEE  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 

    OK: REPLACE ECM (SEE  ECM (3MZ-FE)  )
