Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK OPERATION OF STOP LIGHT 
    1. Check that stop light turns ON when the brake pedal is depressed and turns OFF when the brake pedal is released.
    1. NG: REPAIR STOP LIGHT SWITCH CIRCUIT 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  2. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (STP OF SKID CONTROL ECU - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
    2. Measure the voltage between terminal STP of the skid control ECU connector and the body ground when the brake pedal is depressed.

      OK: 

      Brake pedal is depressed: 10 - 14 V 

      Brake pedal is released: 0 V 

    1. OK: CHECK AND REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY 
    2. NG: Go to next step. 
  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STOP LAMP SWITCH - SKID CONTROL ECU) (See  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    1. NG: CHECK AND REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: CHECK AND REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY
