Circuit Description
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Lexus ES 300. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
Variable Valve Timing (VVT) sensor is also known as camshaft position sensor.
The Variable Valve Timing (VVT) system controls intake valve timing in response to driving conditions. If valve timing does not change from current vale timing or current valve timing is fixed after engine is warmed up and engine speed is at 400-4000 RPM. Possible causes are:
- Incorrect valve timing.
- Faulty oil control valve.
- Faulty VVT controller assembly.
- Faulty ECM.
