Inspection Procedure

  1. Check ECU-IG fuse. 

    Preparation: 

    Remove ECU-IG fuse from Instrument Panel J/B.

    CHECK: 

    Check continuity of ECU-IG fuse.

    OK: 

    Continuity 

    1. NG: Check for short in circuit all the harness and components connected to ECU-IG fuse (See  Figure ). 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  2. Check battery positive voltage. 

    OK: 

    Voltage: 10 - 14 V 

    1. NG: Check and repair the charging system. See  CHARGING  . 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  3. Check voltage between terminals IGI and GND of ABS actuator connector. 

    Preparation: 

    Disconnect ABS actuator connector.

    CHECK: 

    1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    2. Measure voltage between terminals IG1 (3) - GND (1, 23) of ABS actuator harness side connector.

    OK: 

    Voltage: 10 - 14 V  .

    1. OK: Check or replace ABS actuator assembly. 
    2. NG: Go to next step. 
  4. Check continuity between terminals GND of ABS actuator connector and body ground. 

    CHECK: 

    Measure resistance between terminal GND (1, 23) of ABS actuator harness side connector and body ground.

    OK: 

    Resistance: 1 Ω or less  .

    1. NG: Repair or replace harness or connector. 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 

    Check for open circuit in harness and connector between ABS actuator and ECU-IG fuse. See  HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE  .
