Problem Symptoms Table

If a normal code is displayed during the DTC check but the problem still occurs, check the circuits for each problem symptom in the order given in the table below and proceed to the relevant troubleshooting page.

NOTE: When replacing Skid Control ECU, sensor or etc., turn the ignition switch OFF.
Problem Symptoms

Symptom/Suspect Area Refer To
ABS Does Not Operate. (1)
Check The DTC Reconfirming That The Normal Code Is Output PRE-CHECK 
IG Power Source Circuit IG POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT 
Speed Sensor Circuit SPEED SENSOR CIRCUIT 
Check The Brake Actuator With A TOYOTA Hand-Held Tester (2)(3)
ABS Does Not Operate Efficiently (1)
Check The DTC Reconfirming That The Normal Code Is Output PRE-CHECK 
Speed Sensor Circuit. SPEED SENSOR CIRCUIT 
Stop Light Switch Circuit DTC C1249/49 STOP LIGHT SWITCH CIRCUIT 
Check The Brake Actuator With A TOYOTA Hand-Held Tester (2)(3)
ABS Warning Light Abnormality
ABS Warning Light Circuit ABS WARNING LIGHT CIRCUIT (REMAINS ON) 
ABS Warning Light Circuit ABS WARNING LIGHT CIRCUIT (DOES NOT LIGHT UP) 
Skid Control ECU ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE
DTC Check Cannot Be Done (1)
ABS Warning Light Circuit ABS WARNING LIGHT CIRCUIT (REMAINS ON) 
ABS Warning Light Circuit ABS WARNING LIGHT CIRCUIT (DOES NOT LIGHT UP) 
Tc Terminal Circuit Tc TERMINAL CIRCUIT 
Speed Sensor Signal Check Cannot Be Done.
Ts Terminal Circuit Ts TERMINAL CIRCUIT 
Skid Control ECU ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE
(1) When the followings are all normal and the problem is still occuring, replace the Skid Control ECU.
(2) See ABS TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSY. article.
(3) If fluid leaks are found, repair as necessary.
