Inspection Procedure

  1. Inspect Fuse (ECU-IG Of Instrument Panel J/B) 
    1. Remove ECU-IG fuse from the instrument panel J/B.

    2. Check continuity of ECU-IG fuse.
      1. OK: Continuity 
    1. OK: Go To Next Step  .
    2. NG: Inspect For Short Circuit In All Harness And Components Connected To ECU-IG Fuse 
  2. Inspect Battery (Terminal Voltage) 
    1. Check the battery positive voltage.
      1. OK: Voltage: 10-14 V 
    1. OK: Go To Next Step  .
    2. NG: Check Charging System 
  3. Check Voltage Of ECU IG Power Source 

    In Case Of Using The TOYOTA Hand-Held Tester: 

    1. Select the DATALIST mode on the TOYOTA hand-held tester.
    2. Check the voltage condition output from the ECU displayed on the TOYOTA hand-held tester.
      1. OK: "Normal" Is Displayed. 

    In Case Of Not Using The TOYOTA Hand-Held Tester: 

    1. Remove the skid control ECU with connectors still connected.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON, measure voltage between terminals IG1 and GND of skid control ECU connector.

      1. OK: Voltage: 10-14 V 
    1. OK: Check And Replace Skid Control ECU Assy 
    2. NG: Go To Next Step  .
  4. Check Continuity (GND Of Skid Control ECU-Body Ground) 
    1. OK: Check And Repair Harness And Connector 
    2. NG: Repair Or Replace Harness Or Connector
