Expansion Valve Removal

    NOTE:

    At the time of installation, Evacuate air from refrigeration system. Charge system with refrigerant Specified amount:  Single A/C: 500 7 plus or minus; 50 g (17.64 7 plus or minus; 1.76 oz.), and inspect for leakage of refrigerant.

  1. Discharge refrigerant from refrigeration system  .
  2. Remove blower unit  . See BLOWER UNIT REMOVAL .
  3. Remove expansion valve  :
      NOTE: At the time of installation, do not reuse the packing.
    1. Pry out the packings.
    2. NOTE: Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture or dirt out of the system.

      At the time of installation, lubricate 4 new "O" rings with compressor oil and install them to the tube and valve.

    3. Using a hexagon wrench (5.0mm, 0.20 in.), remove the 2 bolts and separate the expansion valve.

      Torque: 3.5 N.m (35 kgf.cm, 30 in.lbf)  .
