Inspection Procedure

  1. Check voltage between terminals RF, CF of A/C amplifier and body ground. 

    PREPARATION:  Remove the center cluster module control with connectors still connected.

    Check

    1. Start engine.
    2. Turn A/C switch ON.
    3. Measure voltage between terminal RF, CF of A/C amplifier and body ground at each conditions as shown in Fig 1.

    1. OK:  Go to step  4.
    2. NG:  Go to step  2.
  2. Check Fan No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 relays  . See steps 3 & 4 of INSPECTION .
    1. NG:  Replace faulty relay
    2. OK:  Go to step  3.
  3. Check RDI fuse and CDS fuse. 

    PREPARATION:  Remove RDI fuse and CDS fuse from engine room J/B.

    Check:  continuity of RDI fuse and CDS fuse. If OK  , Continuity exists.

    1. NG:  Check for short in all the harness and components connected to the RDI fuse See Figure.
    2. OK: Check harness and connector between A/C control amplifier and battery  . See HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION .
  4. Check fan motor operation  . See step 1 of ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION OF CONDENSER FAN .
    1. NG:  Replace fan motor.
    2. OK:  Go to step  5.
  5. Check pressure switch  . See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION OF PRESSURE SWITCH .
    1. NG:  Replace pressure switch.
    2. OK:  Go to step  6.
  6. Check engine coolant temperature switch  . See step 3 of INSPECTION .
    1. NG:  Replace water temperature switch.
    2. OK:  Go to step  7.
  7. Check harness and connector between A/C amplifier and pressure switch, pressure switch and body ground  . See HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION .
    1. NG:  Repair and replace harness and connector.
    2. OK:  Go to step  8.
  8. Check harness and connector between A/C amplifier and water temperature switch, water temperature switch and body ground  . See HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION .
    1. NG:  Repair and replace harness and connector.
    2. OK:  Check and replace A/C amplifier.
