Inspection Procedure

  1. Actuator check. 

    Preparation

    1. Remove glove compartment door to see and check the air inlet damper operation.
    2. Set to the actuator check mode. See  5.
    3. Operate the temperature control switch and change it to step operation.

      Check:  Operate the temperature control switch and check the operation air inlet damper. If OK  , see Fig 2.

    1. If OK  , proceed to next circuit inspection shown on problem symptoms table. See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE .
    2. NG: Go to step   2 . 
  2. Check air inlet control servomotor. 

    PREPARATION:  Remove air inlet control servomotor. See step 4 of BLOWER UNIT DISASSEMBLY .

    Check:  Connect positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 4 and negative (-) lead to terminal 5. If OK  , the lever moves smoothly to FRS position.

    Check:  Connect negative (+) lead from the battery to terminal 5 and positive (-) lead to terminal 4. If OK  , the lever moves smoothly to REC position.

    1. NG:  Replace air inlet control servomotor assembly.
    2. OK: Go to step   3 . 
  3. Check harness and connector between A/C amplifier and air inlet control servomotor  . See HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION .
    1. NG:  Repair or replace harness or connector.
    2. If OK  , check and replace A/C amplifier.
