Inspection Procedure

NOTE: Troubleshoot in accordance with the chart below for each trouble symptom.
TROUBLESHOOTING VSC WARNING LIGHT

Symptom Refer To
ABS Warning Light Does Not Light Up Start The Inspection From Step  1 In Case Of Using A Hand-Held Tester And Start From Step  2 In Case Of Not Using The Hand-Held Tester
ABS Warning Light Remains ON Start The Inspection From Step  2
  1. Check operation of the ABS warning light. 

    Preparation: 

    1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON and push the hand-held tester main switch ON.
    3. Select the ACTIVE TEST mode on the hand-held tester.

    Check: 

    Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the ABS warning light can be shown on the combination meter on the hand-held tester.

    OK:  Check and replace ABS & BA & TRAC & VSC ECU.

    If NG  , go to step  2.

  2. Check ABS warning light.  See SYSTEM TESTS and TEST NO. 12: ABS WARNING LIGHT DOES NOT LIGHT UP .

    NG:  Replace bulb or repair combination meter assembly.

    If OK  , go to step  3.

  3. Check active lamp relay. 

NG:  Replace active lamp relay.

OK:  Repair or replace and check for open or short circuit in harness and connector.
