Removal (Land Cruiser, Sequoia & Tundra 4.7L)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 10 other vehicles, including the 2002 Toyota Tundra, 2002 Toyota Tacoma, 2002 Toyota Sienna, 2002 Toyota Sequoia, and 2002 Toyota Land Cruiser. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Drain cooling system. On Land Cruiser, remove intake manifold cover located on top of engine, above intake manifold. On Sequoia and Tundra, remove throttle body cover located above throttle body. On all models, remove air intake hose with intake air connector located between throttle body and air cleaner assembly.
  2. Disconnect accelerator cable and electrical connectors at throttle body. Disconnect PCV and coolant by-pass hoses at throttle body and remove ventilation cap from throttle body. See Fig 1.
  3. Remove bolts/nuts and disconnect throttle body from intake manifold. Disconnect remaining coolant by-pass hose from bottom of throttle body. Remove throttle body and gasket.
