Power Steering Gear: Removal

- Place front wheels facing straight ahead .
- Remove steering wheel pad . See step 1 under REMOVAL - STEERING COLUMN.
- Remove steering wheel . See step 2 under REMOVAL - STEERING COLUMN.
- Disconnect RH and LH tie rod ends . See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION .
- Disconnect No. 2 intermediate shaft assembly . See step 9 under REMOVAL - STEERING COLUMN.
- Disconnect clamp plate
.
Remove the bolt and disconnect the clamp plate.
- Disconnect pressure feed and return tubes
.
Using SST, disconnect pressure feed and return tubes.
SST 09023-12700
- Remove PS gear assembly
.
- Remove the bolt, nut and stud bolt from the bracket.
- Remove the 2 set bolts, nut, washer and PS gear assembly.
- Remove bracket and grommet .
