- Knock sensor is located on side of cylinder block. Manufacturer recommends removing knock sensor from cylinder block before testing. See KNOCK SENSOR under ENGINE SENSORS & SWITCHES in REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION - 4-CYLINDER article.
- Using ohmmeter, check resistance between electrical terminals on knock sensor. Replace knock sensor if resistance is no 120,000-280,000 ohms at 68°F (20°C).
