DTC C1249/49: Stop Light Switch Circuit: Wiring Diagram

- Check Operation Of The Stop Light Switch.
Check : That the stop lights light up when brake pedal is depressed and turn OFF when the brake pedal is released.
- NG: LOCATION .
- OK : Go to next step.
- Check Voltage Between Terminal STP Of Skid Control ECU And Body Ground.
Preparation : Disconnect skid control ECU connector.
Check : Measure voltage between terminal STP (23) of skid control ECU harness side connector and body ground when the brake pedal is depressed. See Fig 2.
OK : Voltage: 8-14 V
- OK : Check and replace skid control ECU.
- NG : Go to next step.
NOTE: When replacing the ECU, perform the zero point calibration. See step 6 under PRE-CHECK. - Check for open circuit in harness and connector between skid control ECU and stop light switch. See HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE

- NG : Repair or replace harness or connector.
- OK : Proceed to next circuit inspection shown on problem symptoms table. See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS table.
