Inspection Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Toyota Sequoia. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Check Voltage Between Terminals TPH And SG Of Integration Control And Panel Connector

Preparation:
Remove integration control and panel with connectors still connected.
Check:
- Turn ignition switch to ON.
- Change the set temperature to activate the rear air mix damper control servomotor, and measure the voltage between terminals TPH and SG of integration control and panel connector each time when the set temperature is changed.
NOTE: As the temperature increases, the voltage decreases.Courtesy of © TOYOTA, LICENSE AGREEMENT TMS1002
OK:
- NG: Go to step 2.
- OK: Proceed to next circuit inspection shown on problem symptoms table. See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE . However, if DTC 37 or 47 is displayed, check and replace integration control and panel.
- Check Water Valve Damper Position Sensor
Preparation:
Remove REAR A/C EVAPORATOR .
Check:
Measure resistance between terminals 1 and 2 of water valve damper control servomotor assembly connector.
OK:
Resistance: 4.2 - 7.8 kΩ .
Check:
While operating water valve damper control servomotor, following the procedure, measure resistance between terminals 2 and 3 of water valve damper control servomotor assembly connector.
OK:
- NG: Replace water valve damper control servomotor assembly.
- OK: Go to next step.
- Check Harness And Connector Between Integration Control And Panel And Water Valve Damper Control Servomotor Assembly
- NG: Repair or replace harness or connector.
- OK: Check and replace integration control and panel.
NOTE:
As the water valve damper control servomotor moves from cool side to hot side, the resistance decreases.
