Removal & Installation: Sienna: Removal

- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove front wheels.
- Remove cotter pin and lock nut cap.
- Apply brake, and remove hub nut from wheel bearing.
- Drain transaxle fluid into proper container.
- Remove bolt and ABS speed sensor.
- Remove cotter pin and nut from tie rod end. See Figure.
- Disconnect tie rod end from steering knuckle.
- Disconnect lower ball joint from lower control arm.
- Remove bolts, and disconnect steering knuckle from lower control arm.
- Using a plastic hammer, tap axle shaft out of bearing hub.
- Push front axle hub toward outside of vehicle to separate axle shaft from axle hub.
- Remove left axle shaft using brass drift and hammer. Remove snap ring from inboard joint shaft.
- Remove bearing lock bolt from bearing bracket from right axle shaft and remove right axle shaft. Using pliers, remove snap ring, and remove axle shaft.
