Removal & Installation

- Remove disc brake caliper assembly. See FRONT BRAKE CALIPER . Remove brake pads with anti-squeal shims. Remove anti-squeal shims from brake pads. Using a screwdriver, remove wear indicator from brake pads.
- Measure pad lining thickness. See DISC BRAKE SPECIFICATIONS . To install, reverse removal procedure. On single piston type, apply pad grease to both sides of anti-squeal shim No. 1 and install shim together with anti-squeal shim No. 2 to each pad. On twin piston type, apply pad grease to anti-squeal shim and install shim to each pad.
- On both types, install wear indicator to brake pads. Install brake pad with wear indicator facing upward. Install disc brake caliper assembly. See FRONT BRAKE CALIPER .
