Parking Brake

NOTE:
Before adjusting parking brake, make sure that rear brake shoe clearance has been adjusted. See PARKING BRAKE SHOE CLEARANCE .
- With a force of 68 lbs. (31 kg), depress parking brake pedal while counting clicks. If 3-6 clicks are not counted, parking brake requires adjustment.
- Depress parking brake pedal 3 notches to make room for procedure and loosen lock nut. See Fig 1. Return parking brake pedal to original position and turn adjusting nut until pedal travel is correct.
- Depress parking brake pedal 3 notches to make room for procedure and tighten lock nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Return parking brake pedal to original position and check whether parking brake drags or not. When operating the parking brake pedal, check that the parking brake pedal indicator light operates.
