Removal & Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Lexus GX 470. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. There are 4 heated oxygen sensors. Sensor 1, Bank 1 is on vehicle left exhaust manifold in front of front catalytic converter. Sensor 1, Bank 2 is on right. Sensor 2, Bank 1 is on vehicle left behind catalytic converter. Sensor 2, Bank 2 is on right. To remove, disconnect heated oxygen sensor connector and remove heated oxygen sensor.
  2. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten heated oxygen sensor to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Check that sensor wire is not twisted. If it is twisted, remove heated oxygen sensor and install again.
