Vacuum Switching Valve For Charcoal Canister

  1. Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity between terminals. See Fig 1. Resistance should be 26-30 ohms at 68°F (20°C) and 32-42 ohms at 212°F (100°C). If there is no continuity, replace charcoal canister.
  2. Check that air flows from port "A" to "B" and "C". See Fig 2.
  3. Apply battery voltage across terminals. Check that valve is closed. Check that air does not flow from port "A" to "B". Check that air flows from port "A" to "C".
  4. If operation is not as specified, replace charcoal canister.
