Circuit Description

While engine is being cranked, current flows from terminal STAR of ECM to starter relay coil and to terminal STA of ECM (STA signal). DTC is set when vehicle speed is 12 MPH or more, engine revolutions are 1000 RPM or more, STA signal is on and battery voltage is 10.5 volts or more for 20 seconds. Possible causes are:
- Short in park/neutral position switch circuit.
- Faulty park/neutral position switch.
- Faulty cranking holding function circuit.
- Faulty ECM.
