Diagnosis & Repair

  1. If any other DTCs are displayed, diagnose and repair those DTCs first and retest. If only DTC P0505 is displayed, go to next step.
  2. Check connection of PCV hose. If problem exists, repair as necessary. If problem does not exist, go to next step.
  3. Check for vacuum leaks in air induction system. If problem exists, repair as necessary. If problem does not exist, go to next step.
  4. Check Electronic Throttle Control System (ETCS). See THROTTLE CONTROL MOTOR under MOTORS & RELAYS in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING article. Replace components as necessary.
