EVAP Leak Test

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Lexus GX 470. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Connect hand-held tester to DLC3. See Figure.
  2. Select "ENHANCED OBD II/SYSTEM CHECK/EVAP SYS CHECK (or EVAP LEAK TEST)" mode on hand-held tester.
  3. If no changes occur within one minute after pressing "EVAP LEAK TEST", remove fuel tank cap and install it. Then perform "EVAP SYS CHECK (or EVAP LEAK TEST)". Display in hand-held tester will display whether a leak has been detected.
  4. If a leak is detected, or if DTCs P0441, P0442, and P0446 are output simultaneously, conduct a leak test again after repair. If no leak is found by second test, EVAP system is repaired.
