Diagnosis & Repair
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Toyota 4Runner. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
After confirming DTCs P2195, P2196, P2197 and/or P2198, use Toyota hand-held tester or scan tool to access DATA LIST to read output voltage for A/F sensor. Using hand-held tester or scan tool, read FREEZE FRAME data. Freeze frame data records engine conditions when malfunction is detected.
For preliminary inspection with Toyota Hand-held tester or an Enhanced OBD II scan tool, see Fig 2. For diagnosis and repair procedure, see Fig 3-Fig 7 . When instructed to "Perform Confirmation Driving Pattern", see TEST DRIVE CONFIRMATION .
For A/F sensor circuit wiring diagram, see Fig 1. For ECM location, see Figure. For ECM connector view, see Figure. For vacuum or EVAP hose routing, see VACUUM DIAGRAMS article. For testing of systems or components, see BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES - V6 & V8 article or SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING - V6 & V8 article. For removal and installation of components, see REMOVAL & INSTALLATION - V6 & V8 article.
