Diagnosis & Repair
Check for DTCs. If DTCs other than DTC P2119 are set, troubleshoot them first and recheck. If only DTC P2119 is set, check throttle body with motor assembly. Disconnect the throttle body 6-pin connector. Measure the motor resistance between terminal M+ and M- (component side). See Figure. Resistance should be 0.3 to 100 ohms at 68°F (20°C). If resistance is not as specified, replace throttle body with motor assembly. If resistance is as specified, replace ECM. ECM is located behind glove box. See Figure. Using Toyota hand-held tester or scan tool, ensure DTCs are cleared from ECM. Turn ignition on and then use hand-held tester or scan tool to check for DTCs.
