Diagnosis & Repair
After confirming DTCs P0115, P0117 and/or P0118, use the hand-held tester or the OBD II scan tool to confirm the engine coolant temperature from the DIAGNOSIS/ENHANCED OBD II/DATA LIST/ALL. Read the engine coolant temperature for ECT sensor. If displayed engine coolant temperature is -40°F (-40°C), ECT sensor circuit may be open. If displayed engine coolant temperature is 284°F (140°C) or more, ECT sensor circuit may be shorted.
