Removal & Installation (Prius)

- Draw out brake fluid with syringe. Remove outer front cowl top panel. Remove reservoir, brake actuator hose, brake reservoir hose No.1 & No.2, and reservoir bracket. See Fig 1.
- Disconnect fluid level warning switch connector from the reservoir. Remove 2 bolts from reservoir. Disconnect 3 hoses from the reservoir and remove. Disconnect 3 hoses from the reservoir bracket clamp. Remove 4 bolts and reservoir bracket.
- Disconnect liquid and suction tubes. Remove the nut and release liquid and suction tubes. See Fig 2. Using tool (09023-00100) and spanner, disconnect the right front brake line from the flexible hose and 2 way. See Fig 3. Using same tool, disconnect the brake line from the HBB assembly. See Fig 4.
- Disconnect 2 connectors. To remove HBB assembly, remove the clamp, clamp bracket and 3 bolts. See Fig 5. Release the wire harness to remove the HBB assembly. See Fig 6.
- Remove the 3 installation bolts and nut. Remove HBB assembly. Remove 2 bolts and sub-bracket. See Fig 7.
NOTE:
Before starting work, ensure ignition switch is OFF and depress brake pedal more than 40 times.
