Removal & Installation (Land Cruiser)

NOTE:
Before starting procedure, turn ignition OFF. Depress brake pedal more than 40 times to deplete booster pressure. DO NOT turn ignition on until booster is reinstalled.
- Draw out fluid with syringe.
- Remove scuff plate, cowl side trim, lower No. 1 panel, left lower panel and No. 2 heater to register duct. See Fig 1.
- Remove the 2 nuts and ABS & TRAC & VSC ECU.
- Remove charcoal canister.
- For vehicles with ABS only, remove 4 connectors. For vehicles with ABS /TRAC/VSC, remove 5 connectors.
- Disconnect brake lines using special tool (09023-00100).
- Remove clip and clevis pin.
- Remove the 4 booster installation nuts and remove hydraulic brake booster assembly and gasket.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten all installation nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Check for leaks.
