Disassembly (Land Cruiser)

- Remove hydraulic brake booster assembly. See HYDRAULIC BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Place hydraulic brake booster in vise with special tools (09630-00014, 09631-00142, 09950-60010 and 09951-00190). See Figure.
- Disconnect the connector, remove the bolt and clamp, and remove fluid level warning switch connector clamp. See Fig 1.
- Remove reservoir cap, the 3 set screws and pull out the reservoir. Remove the 3 grommets.
- Loosen the lock nut, then remove the clevis, lock nut and caliper boot.
- Using special tool (09023-00100) remove the brake actuator tube No. 1. See Figure.
- Remove the actuator hose.
- Remove the 4 screws and wire harness from the booster and pump.
- Remove the 2 bolts and accumulator bracket.
- Remove the 2 bolts and booster pump motor assembly.
- Remove the bolt and No. 1 pump bracket.
- Remove the 2 washers, 2 cushions, 2 collars and sleeve.
- Remove the 2 bolts and No. 2 pump bracket.
- Remove the cushion from No. 2 pump bracket.
- Using 30 mm deep socket wrench and remove the oil pressure sensor. If replacing the master cylinder pressure sensor, since the sensor is non-reusable, use a NEW sensor, part No. (89637-30050).
- Pressing the piston in with a screwdriver, use a pin or an equivalent to push the snap ring from the hole in the body then remove it with another screwdriver. Remove the piston, pulling straight out, not at an angle.
- Using special tool (09318-12010) to remove the accumulator from booster pump.
- Remove the silencer tube, spring and "O" ring.
