Description & Operation
Both front seats slide forward and backward, rear tilts up and down and seat backs recline forward and backward. The driver seat is also equipped with adjustable lumbar (lower back) support and front vertical seat tilt (up and down). Power seat control switch controls power and ground circuits of power seat motors on front passenger seat and driver seat without driving position memory.
Heated front seats are optional. Heating elements are located in seat cushion and seat back. Some models are also equipped with driving position memory for driver seat. Driving position memory is controlled by power seat electronic control unit (ECU) located under driver seat. Driving position memory allows driver seat and outside rearview mirror positions to be memorized for two different drivers. Driver seat control switch on models with driving position memory signals power seat ECU that driver wants to change a seat position and power seat ECU powers the respective motor.
On models equipped with driving position memory, the power seat ECU is part of the multiplex communication network. The body control electronic control unit (ECU) is primary unit responsible for overseeing the operation of the memory system. The power seat ECU controls driver side power seat, and retains seat position and outside rearview mirror position information for recall by two different drivers.
